1 face
2 face
3 face and more
so many faces
for so many lives
each and every day
new one takes place
for every situation
and interaction
1 for them
1 for us
1 for me
to hide myself away
from my own face
take a child
beat them well.
just a pinch of love
and parental affection,
to justify the cruelty.
scream into them
how worthless they are.
then put it in a bowl
of codependecy,
to ferment the
weak sense of self.
mix well to remove
interpersonal boundaries.
seal mouth,
with guilt or shame.
can't have them
saying no.
can't have dinner
venting out.
preheat the oven
by gaslighting.
make sure to neglect
as trust burns away.
check for emotions.
there should be
only anxiety and depression,
in an adult-shaped husk.
serve cold.
complain about the food.
throw it in the trash.
and the rain falls,
and it falls.
when you turn your face away.
when you close your doors.
when you bury your heart.
deep below,
under the mud,
under the mantle,
in the heat it craves.
don't turn away,
my sunshine.
need your warmth.
your breath.
your tiny deaths.
kindling,
for the bonfire
that is our love.
a resting spot
underneath this flood.
a constant deluge,
drowning us both
i'll grow cold in the rain
without you.
i'm already cold enough
to keep you away.
all united
one-world government
no borders to divide us
no race to classify us
no gender to bind us
no name to free us
no identity
a number will do
for all intents and purposes
for that is a privilege
reserved for those
approved
the chosen
by themselves
to lead
the flock
diseased
unarmed
unaware and compliant
lest they want
to be some sort of
-ist
that would warrant
reprograming at best
at worst capital punishment
we have built power
you have lost power
we have organized
you have lost yourselves
what we have built
is permanent
no matter what
no matter you
be thankful
if you are all sick
then there is no disease
if you are all unarmed
t
we met again
at a party
introduced
by the friend
of a friend
you went with it
had me
playing along
with the idea
we were strangers
how odd to
meet you
once again
i didn't remember you
and i meant nothing
to you
masks for
both of us
pretending
to be strong
in front
of the other
to hide
we are weak
to feelings
still there
and after the
party ends
and after talking
and drinking
and fighting
and smoking
and forgiving
we were
together alone
and intertwined
once again
your words
your eyes
your hands
haven't changed
have i changed?
in the morning
you were gone
once again
i hope you
change
so i can too
DD Discussion on November 16th by Zara-Arletis, journal
DD Discussion on November 16th
Each month our literature community comes together to celebrate the writers that made it into last month's Daily Deviations. Reading and discussing each piece broadens our understanding of writing and helps us connect with each other. It's a great way to say thank you for sharing and thank you for reading.
Help us celebrate by coming to the CRLiterature chat room this Saturday, November 16th from 1pm-3pm Pacific Time - see what that is in your time zone here. Keep reading to the bottom of this journal for the list of Literature DDs that will be discussed.
Why?
We believe that discussion with friends and peers is a valuable part of how a r

Hello. Welcome to another installment of YouInventedMe (https://www.deviantart.com/youinventedme)'s weekly favorites feature (brought to you PoetryForHumans (https://www.deviantart.com/poetryforhumans))!
These eight pieces are culled from things I've favorited over the previous week. They aren't limited to poems belonging to members of the group, they're just beautiful pieces of writing that I'd like to bring attention to. Please give them a look, and follow the fantastic deviants responsible for them:

ProjectDFC: Rondeaux in Julliet 2019
Hello everyone! OneWithTheStars here and welcome to ProjectDFC (https://www.deviantart.com/projectdfc)'s 2019 installment of Rondeaux in Julliet!
Rondeaux in Julliet (RIJ)
ProjectDFC was defined on its love for poetic forms. And not just the forms that many of us are accustomed to seeing, but trying to grasp various forms from around the world for the exposure to the many different ones various regions have to offer as well as try our hands at them, even when our native languages/structures may not flow as well as the traditional languages they herald from. The goal is a literary adventure across the planet and I hope everyone can enjoy that spirit.
One of the regions that
Tonight, I'd like to bring you a selection of some of my favourite poems here on DA, specifically works that have gone under-appreciated. :)
These will be pieces of brevity, as they tend to be my most appreciated. Many people do not understand how difficult it can be to pack so much feeling and meaning into a short piece. In these cases, every word must be meticulously thought-out and placed. The following are exemplifications of brevity beautifully executed. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
so... hello, I guess?
I have a nasty habit of leaving without a word, so I decided to show up for a moment. I'm terribly sorry for lack of replies: I'll get to answering your messages as soon as possible, promise!
I've been having a lot on my plate lately. Even with Christmas break nearing, I won't have time to post anything. :saddummy: I have some writing in my Sta.sh, but that's still work in progress.
...Anyway, here's the long overdue feature!
I encourage you to read the poems below; maybe you'll find something that resonates with you?
Once you do, please don't forget to show some support to the featured artists. :)

Have you ever seen or witnessed something so sublime that all you want to do is curl up and cry.
You want to do something with the same essence. Yet you can't, or you might be able to, but it'll never be quite the same.
Oh well, guess I'll just shut up and try to enjoy it while it lasts.
Here's a question to the rare few who might actually read this. Why are you downloading my stuff? I don't really care excluding the curiosity.
Augh, what a horrible year. Half-hoping the world actually ended and there would be nothing to look back at even if it meant there was nothing to look forward to. Anyways, back and sorry for the absence and worries.
